What make Stimagz so effective?
Stimagz are highly effective because they engage the brain using scientifically supported mechanisms like pattern-based motor repetition, sensory regulation, and cognitive anchoring. Repetitive hand movements have been shown to increase activation in the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for focus and impulse control—functions that are often underactive in individuals with ADHD (Peterson et al., 2009).
Tactile sensory input, like that provided by the soft rubberized magnetic design of Stimagz, aligns with sensory integration theory, which suggests that consistent, calming stimuli can help regulate arousal and improve attention in people with sensory processing difficulties (Ayres, 2005).
They also serve as cognitive anchors, grounding users through repetitive actions that subtly hold the brain’s attention and reduce intrusive thoughts—similar to techniques used in mindfulness and CBT (van der Kolk, 2015). What are Stimagz made of?
Stimagz are constructed using a durable polypropylene plastic and powerful, rare-earth Neodymium magnets. They have been ATSM certified to ensure they are safe for lifelong use.
What size are Stimagz?
Classic Stimagz are about 1 inch long (2.5 cm) and a little over ¼ inch (0.8 cm) thick. Series II are about 1.5 inches long (3.5 cm) and the same diameter/thickness.
Are Stimagz made for kids?
Stimagz are made for adults. They contain small magnets and can be a choking hazard. Stimagz are not intended for anyone under 14 years of age.
Will Stimagz damage my phone or credit cards?
Nope! Phones use NAND flash memory which is not affected by magnets. Moreover, we certainly wouldn't recommend storing your Stimagz directly on top of a magnetized card for long periods of time, but our testing has not uncovered any issues occurring between Stimagz and cards through regular use. This includes storing Stimagz in the same pocket as your wallet.
